Award winning Moscow Garden featured in ‘House and Garden’

By English Rules:  Published in the Russian glossy magazine ‘Dom ‘n’ Sad’, Sally Court joint Director of cgd landscape design writes in her best Russian about her multi- award winning garden on the outskirts of Moscow.  The client was so keen to have an English garden that she commissioned Sally to create a garden typical of the romantic gardens of temperate England climes (Zone 7) that would flourish in the more extreme climate of Zone 5a.  Many elements of the garden, such as the Alitex glass house, the Stuart Garden Architecture summerhouse, Redwood Stone obelisks and fonts, York Stone and Kent antique bricks were shipped over to the garden, which was built by the respected contractors, Honka Land Ltd.  The planting, designed by Helen Billetop, Sally’s co Director at cgd landscape design, is very untypical of the simple palette used in Moscow gardens.  It is exuberant with lots of colourful herbaceous borders, rose and shrubs gardens, flowering meadows, an orchard of fruit trees and many interesting varieties of trees which lighten the existing pines and birches so typical of the area. More>>
